World History

Mon 10:00am-11:25am

Class Description

In this survey course of World History students will learn about all the major cultures and civilizations of the world.  We will study the belief systems and the ideologies that have guided and continue to guide different cultures in the world and we will see and study the impact of European exploration and Christianity on the globe.  Our study will begin with the origins of life and how the earliest civilizations of Egypt and Mesopotamia have come to define our modern look at World History. We will also explore many of the new discoveries that are challenging the traditional understanding of the global historical narrative.  We will use a traditional World History Textbook as the foundation but will supplement with the most important primary and secondary sources students should be exposed to in a World History survey course.
